Like 2 speak more Spanish. Lived in Spain 3 times for 5 months Got the hang of it 2 summers ago. Did the Camino de Santiago all by myself in 02. Ended up speaking a combo of High School Latin, illiterate French & basic Spanish. Every1 understood. Fun

English is my mother tongue. French is my Mother's tongue. I speak Spanish reasonably well (much better than french).

Babel gets a 10 out of 10 from me. It exploits the natural human inclination to be helpful as an icebreaker and conversation starter. It's really fun and you get to know people better than other meetups I have been to because its whole focus is on finding things for the other person to practice their language on. Therefore it gets everyone asking helpful questions and listening carefully to answers. The groups keep moving around the table from one intimate language focused 3 or 4 some to the next. Better than any office part or cocktail party I have ever been too. Me gusta mucho este groupo Babel. I highly recommend it for shy people who are afraid to speak. When you do it to be helpful, so someone can practice their desired language (and one that you speak well) - the shyness melts away..

Hola Marlene, ¡Bienvenida al grupo! Espero conocerla pronto en una de nuestras próximas reuniones. I do not understand your comment about paying for parking. There is ample free street parking near our Bridgehead. Melita, la organizadora
Hi Marlene, I'm *so* happy to hear you had a good time at Babel tonight! I missed it because I'm not feeling well, but I'll be there next week definitely and I look forward to speaking un poco de español contigo!
Hasta pronto,
Beth
Welcome to our group! We are meeting again on Nov.30 at St. Paul University. I will be posting more info soon.
Welcome back. The prices we have are lower than what non-profits charge for less. For just $20 you can join over100 events. That's lots of fun for next to none!
