YOU KNOW YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO RIDE A SEGWAY!!
(but were too embarrassed to try it out alone...LOL)
and now is your chance to try one with the KRAZY OKLers!
Let's go for a whole different way to cruise the
Historic Guilford Shoreline!!!!
Shoreline Segway Tours offers a innovating and fun way to tour the Historic Guilford Shoreline!!! You will have fun and also will learn how to operate a whole different motorized vehicle!!!

The Segway is truly a green machine, totally battery operated with few moving parts. Our belief is that the time has come for more widespread use of Segways in the proper riding environment. They are maneuverable, easy to ride and have a small footprint. They can be used inside and out, and are the perfect vehicle to glide around town on your daily errands, for a modest commute to work or for an enjoyable glide around an attractive location.
The Guilford tour begin at our shop at 260 River St. in Guilford where you'll be trained and practice riding. In Guilford we glide through our historic district, past our Agricultural Fair Grounds and to the Marina on Long Island Sound. The marina area offers a beautiful view of Long Island Sound, Falkners and Grass Islands as well as the Tidal Wetlands.
All rides are 1 hour but with practice you're riding for about 30 minutes longer so the experience takes about 1.5 hours. We can take up to 8 riders but more people can be accommodated by splitting up into groups.
To attend this exciting event, please follow these easy steps:
- RSVP "yes" through this event page and pay the $1 event fee.

What is a Segway?
Segways are two-wheeled, self-balancing, environmentally friendly machines which takes riding to a whole new level. The Segway requires no special skills as it takes care of the balancing, and virtually anyone can use one. A Segway is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint too!! The Segway Human Transporter is the first of its kind - a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway contains high-tech gyroscopes that monitor your body position 100 times a second and automatically responds to your body's movements. To move forward, the rider simply leans forward. To stop or move backwards, the rider leans back slightly. The rider glides smoothly as the Segway senses where you want to go.
Are there any age or weight limits?
Although riding a Segway is relatively easy to do and learn, we do require that all riders must weigh between 100 lbs and 260 lbs. (An adult or guardian must accompany children under 18). You must be at least 16 years old to participate in our tours.
Are Segways safe for children or people with disabilities?
Although riding a Segway is relatively easy to do and learn, we do require that all riders must weigh between 100 lbs and 260 lbs. (An adult or guardian must accompany children under 18). Also, riders should have the ability to make motions such as climbing and descending stairs without assistance.
Your experience will include:
Riding your own Segway
All training and helmets
An experienced tour guide
A fun and exciting experience
Are the tours cancelled in case of rain?
No, our tours run rain or shine. Segways themselves run just fine in all weather. Shoreline Segway tours run in fog, light rain or sunshine. Segways are designed to run in light rain. In the rare case of a tour cancellation due to a severe rain we will offer space on an alternate date or time (if space is available.)
The Guilford tour start at 260 River St. Guilford, Ct.
Your safety is always our highest priority; therefore each of our tours begins with a orientation session. We will practice on the Segways until everyone feels comfortable and is ready to glide. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to ride. Unfortunately, pregnant women will not be permitted to participate.
How do I learn to ride a Segway?
All first time customers are required to take a training session to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Riders are trained on safe Segway operation, emergency stops, and our etiquette policy. All riders are required to wear a helmet.
What should I bring with me on the tour?
Bring your camera and sunscreen or a jacket, depending on the weather.
How long does the tour last?
All of our tours are approximately one and a half hours including a brief training session.
