RSVP for 2012 Ouray Canyon Rendezvous

RSVP here to participate in the 2012 Ouray Canyon Rendezvous.

This year we will be under the big tent in Fellin Park, adjacent to the Hot Springs Pool.

Rendezvous includes canyon trips, gear vendor displays and demos, social meet and greet activities, raffles for registered rendezvous attendees and other events made possible by our sponsors.

Your registration fee includes:  free beer at the social hour each night and a catered dinner Saturday evening.  Presentations, movies, a second meal on Friday evening, and a live band are in planning stage and will be contingent on sponsor support.

This canyon rendezvous is open to all but ...

Participation on some canyon trips will be restricted based on canyon difficulty and each canyoneer's skills/experience. Some canyons will be restricted to experienced canyoneers, and to members of other recognized associations and clubs (i.e. ACA, EFC, AIC, FMME, FEEC, CIC).

PARTICIPANT EVENTS AND PRIVILEGES
Some rendezvous events will be open to the public. Other events and privileges will only be available to registered participants. These include: non-guided canyon trips, catered dinner, free beer, etc. To distinguish registered participants from the general public, wrist bands will be issued. We need the cooperation of all trip leaders to make sure people who join their trips on the meetup group have RSVP'd and that all participants have their wristbands.

GUIDED CANYON TRIPS
Self-organized canyon trips are intended for trained/experienced, self-reliant canyoneers. Beginners and others who need or prefer more oversight or instruction are encouraged to employ the services of a professional guide. San Juan Mountain Guides will offer special rates on their guide service during the rendezvous. Might be a good option for your significant other who wants to try an easier canyon while you go out on a more advanced trip or for you to push yourself beyond your current comfort zone.

ORGANIZING CANYON TRIPS

Anyone who has registered and paid for the rendezvous may post trips and allow others to RSVP. From the HOME PAGE, click on "SCHEDULE A NEW MEETUP". It is a very simple and efficient way to organize trips. All rendezvous participants are expected to honestly assess their own skills to ensure each canyon is within your ability and to assess their prospective canyon partners.

RENDEZVOUS FEE

Online Registration accepted through August 6, 8:00PM: $25.00
On-Site Registration: $45.00

RENDEZVOUS CHECK-IN

All rendezvous participants must check in upon arrival at the Festival.

Me too!! Thanks and admiration to Connie and Greg for putting on a classy event. The venue, the displays, the food, the beer, the raffle, the organization, the camaraderie, the canyoneering, all top notch. Can't wait to come back next year!

Hi Sal, I don't know how many people are having this problem but when I try to view your videos, I get an error message that says, "This video contains content from EMI, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds." I assume you added music that YouTube decided was copyrighted?

BTW, Greg. You are welcome to use any of my photos for your promotions. You can download the full files from Flickr. I will keep out of the photo contest since I already won something. Thanks, again.

Thank you Connie and Greg for hosting a very successful event. I was honored to be there. You obviously put a lot of love and hard work into this and it showed. I can still taste that perfectly cooked, juicy roast, and I was moved in my core when the band played Wagon Wheel. I'm back here in the East and already I miss the West.
I didn't take many photos except on Saturday afternoon, but I did take 5 hours of video in the canyons. Here's the first short video I made. I'll post the photos at my Flickr page, and the videos at my YouTube channel. Thanks to all of you for making it possible. I'll see you again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gylIrDplbd8

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
