Full Moon Snowshoe

There's few things more beautiful than snow glistening under the moonlight! This time around the plan will be (weather permitting!) to meet at the shop, and leave at 7:30pm sharp! We'll be headed up to the Big Springs Trailhead, and should get there around 8pm, for anyone who would just prefer to meet there. From there you can snowshoe up the trail (to the meadows, or the springs, your call), then hang out at the park around a cozy heat source - to be determined. Treats will be provided!

For those new to snowshoeing, we do have rentals available at the shop. If you are here by 7:20pm, we'll provide snowshoes, and even bring them home for you! Provided we still have enough snow on the ground, this will be a great intro trail, as its not to steep or difficult, but is plenty long enough for someone of any skill level to enjoy.

Again, this is all weather permitting due to the potential storm forecasted for this weekend, snow on the ground, etc.

Sorry we were really late. We must have crossed somewhere on the trail/road. We saw everyone else pulling out of the parking lot right when we got back down from the trail. We enjoyed our time in the hills at night. We wish there had been more snow and less slush, but maybe next time!

How much is the snow shoe boot rental does that include boots and ski shoes? We have out of town guests that would like to joing but they have never gone snow shoeing and are concerned. Everyone is fit, just not used to this type sport.....sound like fun! So we would just follow the group up to the trail? Many thanks, Elizabeth

This will be really easy. You may not even need the snowshoes. If you would like to use a pair of ours just show up at the shop 10 minutes early and we will loan you a pair for the night. When we are done you can just throw them in my truck and I will bring home for you.

I took a quick jaunt on the Big Springs trail this afternoon. There are a few slushy parts at the beginning, but no bare ground or rocks. Sure is beautiful up there.

Hello fellow Outdoor Enthusiasts... I've never been snowshoeing before, but it sounds like an interesting event. What equipment would I need? Is there a significant amount of difficulty for a newcomer?

Bring a warm coat, gloves and some hiking shoes. I supply the moon, snowshoes, and attempted humor.

Jk I will change it, thanks. Let's do the 7:30 so that Kendra can get done ice skating and come with us.

I just noticed the meeting times on the event calendar and the 'Description' tab are different. Is it 7 or 7:30?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
