Turtle Ride: Waterfront Loop

If you are new to cycling this is the ride for you!  We're going to go at a fairly slow pace along the Waterfront Trail.  The ride is about 11 miles long and fairly flat.

Route Link: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2202647

Who will like this ride: SLOW (<10mph) riders who have not done much riding this past winter.  Also, beginner riders since much of this route is on multi-use paths. A social, "enjoy the scenery" pace.

Meet and Greet: 10:00 Sunday morning under the Morrison Bridge on the Waterfront Trail

Wheels Spinning Promptly @ 10:15 - Please do NOT show up at the last minute and make everyone else wait!

Ride Leader:  Liz[masked]  [masked]

TRAFFIC: This ride is on multi-use paths for the most part.

RIDE TYPE: Fun and Social, a comfortable pace so we can visit with the others and enjoy the scenery. Wait at all hilltops and all turns. This is not a training ride or a race. No one will be dropped.

BRING: Water and enough snacks for about 2 hours (probably less).  Spare tube (the RIGHT SIZE please) and a pump that fits your tube.

WEATHER: Has been all over the place lately. I will cancel if it's brutally cold, or sideways rain, but will ride in intermittent showers and at least 40 degrees. I will post a notice by 7:45 AM that  morning if the weather is too bad to ride.

POST RIDE GET TOGETHER? Saturday Market might be fun, but I'll defer to whatever the group decides.

REQUIRED: Helmets are Mandatory - this is a requirement, not a request.

Obey all traffic laws. Remember, you are representing the bike community, so represent us well.

Please have your bike in good working order. If your bike is not in adequate working order we may ask you to sit out the ride.

Yes, Liz did a great job. Nice paced social ride with time for conversation and a few stops.

Nice route for a beginner ride and Liz did a great job as her first Ride Leader ride. This was my first time to ride the trail along the west side of the Willamette and it is a trail I will keep in mind.

Liz, looks like you have a perfect size group tomorrow. Don't forget to sign them in. There's a model sign up sheet on the website: up at the top of the screen click on "MORE" and then "FILES" and you can download the sign up sheet. We ask for riders' cell # in case they get separated, and an emergency# in case they get hurt (no one ever has). I know you'll do great! -ab

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
