The Ride: This ride is 58 miles long with ~1800 feet of elevation change over the course. We will stop at each of the historic covered bridges along the route for sightseeing, and catch our breath at the Roaring River Co. Park at the halfway point. While this is a social ride where nobody will get dropped and we'll wait for everyone at the turns, please make sure you are up for the distance, elevation change and the pace.
Target Riders: Up-and-coming intermediate cyclists who can maintain 15 mph on the flats. Because of the distance and the elevation, this is a harder ride than the others ones I have led. If you struggled with my Champoeg or Banks-Vernonia rides, this ride is probably not for you. On the other hand, this ride is not for speedsters, as we will be making multiple stops along the way to admire the area's historic covered bridges.
Logistics: Sunday, July 28th, meet and greet @ 8:30. Wheels roll at 9:00 sharp. We honor the prompt, so please don't be late and make everyone wait - we probably won't. Given the distance, moderate pace, and the stops, I expect we will be on the road for about 6 hours - this is a long ride.

Rules of the Road:
Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request.
Always bring plenty of water, snacks for energy, a flat repair kit, including a spare tube that FITS, a pump or, at a minimum, a threaded CO2 cartridge. Sunscreen, a credit card and a little cash to buy refreshments and to reimburse a good Samaritan who might have to provide you with anything like a tube ($5) or a CO2 cartridge ($3).
Mandatory for all riders: Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road. Please represent us well.
All riders must have their rides in good working order and must bring a flat kit & spare tube on all rides. If there is an issue with proper working or lack of equipment you may be asked to sit the ride out. Please ask for help if you are ill equipped prior to the ride. We will try to help!
