Heritage Week End - Saturday discovery of Kingston's area

We can't let this week end go without taking advantage of it:

We have the chance that we have many cars available to discover the area.

We propose the following stops:

Sounds already like a lot but other options around Kingston include the Saugerties Lighthouse or on the East of the river, the garden fest in Clermont.

Stops will include lunch somewhere (High Falls has a cafe that I am sure will be happy to see all of us)!

To have an idea of where we are going: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=210661197207171432577.0004bff4e29a30ddd9325&msa=0&ll=41.940084,-73.999786&spn=0.40452,0.795135

How are we going there? Go to the google document https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnpzhXdDNUWDdGRXNkdKVW9wa3ZuWUU4bjZIX0dVbnc. If you are a driver, indicate asap your pick up location and contact info. If you are a passenger, add your name and contact info in the available spots.

Where and when do we meet? Pending the answer for the House and Barns tour, we will confirm first stop. Plan to be in Kingston, 2 hours from the city, by 10am.

Cost The most expensive tour would be the Heritage House and Barns but otherwise it's between free or $10. You don't have to go on all tours. Plan to have some cash for lunch unless you want to bring it.

I am running out of superlatives to describe these events. Another wonderful day even though we missed the cupcakes!

I plan on driving since I live halfway between NYC and Kingston. I can give folks a ride if you want to meet me at Woodbury Commons Outlet Mall which is only a 50 min. bus ride from the city on a direct bus route.

Croton aqueduct trail great to pick up in Tarrytown. Can walk down to Yonkers with plenty of spots for lunch or rest along the way

Rail trail sounds interesting. The croton aqueduct/water tunnel and the west point military academy museum also sounds interesting.

A location has not even been picked, and yet it is full more than a month in advance. It's funny, and says a lot :)
