An Evening with David Lindo - The "Urban Birder"

Outdoor Afro is proud to co-host with Golden Gate Audubon Society an evening with David Lindo, and Afro-Brit and self-proclaimed "Urban Birder" on his first tour ever of the United States, and Bay Area.

David will share stories and pictures reflecting his love of birding in densely urban environments in the UK, and recall his travels to notable cities around the world to bird and explore.

Join us for wine and hors d'oeuvres and a chance to meet David. Our program will begin at 7:30 and last about an hour, with time for more conversation until 9:00.

Space is limited for this special event!

More information about David Lindo, the Urban Birder, may be found at http://www.theurbanbirder.com.

Proudly hosted by

I am usually not the "mixer" sort, so normally had I known there would be a thirty-minute meet and greet before the presentation, would have arrived a little later. However, the Afros don't let you feel out of place. I was immediately and warmly welcomed by Rue and the others. Among the afros, it all feels very warm and familiar, so good times there.

David's presentation was equally wonderful and accessible for the experienced birder or hopelessly curious. Birds always catch my attention in the city, and by his presentation, I feel all the more encouraged to always carry my 'bins' when out and about. His most important point, I think, is that sometimes it is more important not to know 'the rules,' as the universe can often reward innocence (sincerity) and simplicity.

Thanks, Rue! Meetup has changed so much... I thought it would be among the testimonials, but everything is stacked into comments!

Can't make it, so opening up my spot for someone else. There is an event for diabetics at the same time, so a hard choice but I had to make one. :( Hope it's a great event!
