Cataract Falls Trail Hike

Cataract Falls is a beautiful trail full of waterfalls, large and small. The trail can be very slippery because of the dampness. The location is somewhat remote, which is why we will meet in the Ihop parking lot, located in the city of San Rafael, Ca. and carpool to the location. ( parking at the falls is very limited )

*** Rainfall is what feeds the waterfalls, so the falls are not rapids at this point, but the hike is still beautiful.***

Please make sure to arrive at 8:00 AM. We will depart on time. Please bring your lunch, as we will rest at the top of the falls before heading back down. I suggest layers of clothing, as the weather is somewhat unpredictable, but for the most part it will be on the damp side. There will be a lot of traversing, stairs and rocks to step on and over. This is a moderate to difficult hike, but we will take our time and make sure everyone is comfortable. People under the age of 12 are not advised on this hike.

Kudos Theresa! I have to put this on my list to experience again in the near future. I had no idea there was a trail in Mt. Tam with such beautiful waterfalls. Would love to experience it again after we've had more rainfall!
