Hi Afros!

The Bay Area Outdoor Afro Leadership Team is in the process of planning some winter trips 2013 ski season.

As we prepare for that, we want to invite you to a FREE "indoor" Outdoor Afro event hosted by one of Outdoor Afro's sponsors, REI.

Taking place at the REI store in Berkeley, this event will offer a great opportunity to learn snow shoe basics as well as places you can go to try out your new or dusted off snow shoe skills. Plus, there’s going to be a raffle, goodie bags and discount offers for those who attend.

NOTE: SPACE IS LIMITED SO YOU MUST REGISTER WITH REI TO ATTEND. CLICK ON THE FOLLOWING LINK TO REGISTER:

As always, we hope to have events that are family friendly and inclusive of all our members, no matter their experience levels. Personally, I've never been a snow boarder or a down hill skier so I've really come to love snow shoeing. If you're

like me and love the snow, but prefer a slower, more relaxed activity, I'd highly recommend you attend this work shop and learn more about snow shoeing or "snow hiking," as I like to call it. '

<= this is me snow shoeing among the giant trees in Yosemite!

Hope to see you there and Don't forget to RSVP here:

Sorry I couldn't make it, but I'm looking forward to getting out in the snow. Were there any tips/brochures or other info that could be posted?

Thoroughly enjoyed the class; just wish they'd had some artificial snow so we could try the shoes out! :-D

Badger Pass in Yosemite is a great location for less crowded skiing, snow showing or any snow activity. Hey let's go!
