We had extraordinary conditions this past weekend. It was not at flood stage but still extraordinary volume. Extraordinary paddlers!

Hey Fred, I wrote you an email and hope it helps change your mind about your boat.
I'd want to thank all those who saved my butt......repeatedly..... last Sun. And I want to apologize for inconveniencing everyone. Next time I will be better informed about the conditions before I go so I can decide whether my experience level is up to the task.
I had only 8 or 9 paddles previous to that trip and nothing like the conditions that the Maurice presented me with.
I hope to learn from my considerable mistakes so that I'll be better in the future.

Hi Len. I saw your email. I agree that more skill and experience is the key. I did notice everyone else seemed to paddling easier than me. That being said I still think you need the right tool for the job and my kayak just isn't cut out for that type of kayaking.

Had fun. I'll need to buy or rent a different kayak to do another one like this.

OK, so how about some direction here. We exit 55 at 35(a or b), looks like the first exit which is b, and then what?
Go to Maurice River Pkwy. and turn which way to meet up? If you guys are right at Garden Rd. and the Pkwy. it will be no problem finding you, but if you're off Garden Rd. a bit we need to know which way to turn.

The exit is westbound on Garden Rd..sign says "towards Brotmanville", the river & guard rail is directly after the ramp, and you will see us on right side.

Fred, when you say "first" are you okay with 6 hours of paddling one way on a fast current? We break for lunch and rest stop, but I don't want you to think this is a quick out and back.

We meet at Garden Road, Vineland, off Route 55, the exit says "Towards Brotmanville." River is twisty and turny with lots of brush and over-hanging greenery. Poison ivy lives on this river, tho I have never contracted it, best to have sleeves covered, and garden gloves. Very beautiful route, wild and scenic.
Good for average size kayaks and canoes.
