Oh man! vicky, I am so sorry! Can't believe I didn't post my pics or even thank you for this awesome trip!!!! It was a great day! Got to see my "white water" friends and discover that savannah of pitcher plants!
I wonder who that nice man was who gave me and my boat a ride back… When I was out of gas? Ah, great people, wonderful memories!!

All systems are go for this trip. Weather forecast for Sunday is 57 degrees and sunny. If you are planning on attending please be aware that the water temperatures are still very cold! You must have appropriate clothing and spare clothing in a dry bag. There are rivers in south Jersey experiencing some flooding so we need to be a group both vigilant and experienced. This trip is not recommended for beginners.

Any problem with a 14.5 kayak

I've taken my Carolina 16.5 without problem. Prefer my 12 but 14.5 shouldn't be a problem

Bill, if this your first time on the Oswego I might suggest you wait for warmer weather. It is going to be tight in a few places and will have a lot of push. If you can handle the turns in your boat in a confined space and don't feel that you will overturn. There is that risk.

I was not aware that it was largely a kayak event. I have rented from Mick's before on the Appalachian Mtn. Club's paddling trips. I wasn't aware that they would transport to meet up with the group. I will definitely sign up for a future trip. have fun!

Kayaks or canoes, no restriction. It can happen that canoes are more prevalent. When you rent and come for an event, you just have to allow enough time and tell Micks that you are trying to meet the group at a specific time. If we know you're coming it usually works out fine.

I heard from Joe A. today. He plans to join us on the Oswego, and will join OCSJ too.

Many of you fondly recall my dad. Well, on Christmas Eve, after his wake, I picked up the phone to call Mom. And I heard, "Yo! Yo! Yo!" There was no mistaking that voice. I often feel his presence on the river.
