Hiking North Branch of Rancocas State Park. A diamond in the rough.

We will make the loop around and through this park's well blazed trails, crossing the foot bridge to the recently "saved from death" Rancocas Nature Center, and then visit the shore of the Rancocas creek looking for ospreys and bald eagles. We will target about 5 miles.

Hiking boots not needed, it is not rocky. I will bring some bug spray just in case.

If you bring a quarter, you can participate in our high stakes pool!

Please note: There are no facilities in the park.

What is the terrain like? Wondering if sneakers are sufficient or if hiking boots are the better option. Thanks!

I did this hike with the Castagners before and the Rancocas State Park was a pleasant surprise to me....a diamond in the rough indeed! I will look forward to it once again.

I'm new to the group and that trail are sneakers and shorts fine? Is it shaded or in full sun ?
