We set up this group so that parents and their kids could together discover and explore some of the best natural places in and around Southwest Riverside County. We meet monthly, on the second Friday, at a selected location, and our guide is a ranger or scientist who teaches us about the plants and animals that live there. Our parent organization is the Santa Margarita Sierra Club, and our goal is to give kids a chance to learn about nature and come to love it as we do. We welcome all families but because of the timing, most of our participants are home-schoolers. The cost to participate is free, or just the price of entry to our venue, and we ask for a donation of two dollars per family to maintain this website.
We'll also post details of our monthly speakers, held at 7 PM on the third Thursday of every month, and our local hikes which are open to everybody. (You don't have to be a Sierra Club member to join in!)
