The Little Cottonwood Canyon Trail begins at the bottom of Little Cottonwood Canyon and extends up to Tanners Flat, mirroring the road and providing nice views of the steep canyon walls on both sides of the canyon, which are often filled with climbers and an occasional mountain goat.

Description: The trailhead is located at the bottom of Little Cottonwood Canyon on the south side of the road where Highway 209 and 210 meet, however, when the gate is closed during the winter months, the Little Cottonwood Canyon Park and Ride can be used and is directly across the road on the north side.  This is an easy trail with views of old buildings and structures along the way.  The trail has an easy incline and you can make the hike as short or long as you like.  The total distance from the bottom of the canyon to Tanners Flat is about 5.5 miles One-way.

Great hike, Jen! I give you FIVE STARS (although most of the stars are because you let me win our kindergarten races). ;)

The map is a bit off. The Park N Ride is a mile SE at the mouth of the canyon by the Temple Granite Quarry Historical Monument.
