Get outdoors, see great places, meet great people and feel alive with Outdooraholics - London's largest and most active Outdoor pursuits group!

Who we are
With over 4000 members on Meetup and over 1550 additional members on our mailing list we are London's largest outdoor pursuits group hosting over 100 events a year and taking away over 2000 people per year on a range of exciting trips. We're a fun loving, adventurous and sociable multinational hiking group based in London offering hiking and walking day trips, weekends away hiking and longer trips to destinations both in the UK and all over the world. We're mainly in our late 20s to early 40s or at least young at heart and we generally either live or work in or around London. We discover and explore picturesque and stunning landscapes and rural trails hiking around the British Isles, visiting most of the National Parks and many designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, all easily accessible from London.
We organise all the logistics for our hiking trips, tell you what you need to bring, where to be and we just ask you to turn up and bring a smile :-)
What we do
Mainly a lot of day and weekend hiking adventure trips around the UK. Our day hikes and weekend walks are well planned so you can just turn up with your backpack and enjoy a fabulous hiking trip in the outdoors, trekking with like minded people.
Why we do it
Outdooraholics was started by Graham - a very keen hiker and outdoors lover with a lifetime of hiking experience. Outdooraholics was started to share his experience, love, enthusiasm and passion for hiking in the great British Countryside with others but before starting this he'd been involved with and run day and weekend hiking trips for a number of other established groups from his University Expedition society to an inter varsity (graduate) club through to even national charities like Rotaract. He now has a very active hobby of sharing this hiking passion with others through a large range of fun, exciting and sometimes challenging hiking trips.
To keep up with demand for hiking trips, we have a number of similarly enthusiastic people involved with the group. To find out more about the main Outdooraholics hiking crew, please visit the link below:

Why go hiking in a group?
Apart from the obvious of increasing your fitness and being a great way to make new friends if you're new in town, one of our regular members has answered this with a brilliant article below:

Waiting lists
We get a large proportion of people coming back for repeat trips with us and sadly despite the number of hiking trips (usually at least one a week), a lot do fill up quickly and develop waiting lists. If you'd like to come hiking with us please do join the waiting list and for future trips, signing up early when the trip is announced is highly advisable.
Safety
Our main hike leader has undertaken both a four day Walk Group Leader course accredited by the MLT (Mountain Leader Training) and a six day Mountain Leader course (also accredited by the MLT) as well as having a two day outdoor Activity First Aid course and over 20 years of extensive and diverse hiking and leading experience. Sadly the outdoors always presents risks but through our experience, training and careful planning we do our best to minimise those.
