Oscar Party at the Balboa Theater

The Oscar Party at the Balboa Theater is always good for laugh. I've gone for the past couple of years and have had a great time each year. The emcee is a goofy, funny guy who makes all the right snarky comments about Hollywood pretentiousness and also gets into the artistry of movies. During commercial breaks he hands over the mic to audience members to tell their "brush with celebrity" stories.

It's only $10 and there are prizes throughout the show.

The doors open at 2; the show starts at 4.

We can meet outside the theater on the sidewalk.  If our group is big enough, we might designate a few people to show up early and save seats.

Who wants to go???

I got in & sat on left side 3rd row count from the back. I wear a red sweater, easy to find. Hopefully Mira or others can find me. Enjoy champagne the theater provides.

Hi Grace - you're the only one who thought ahead! The rest of us are shut out.

Two of us are across the street at Zephyr cafe, in the back. Jeans, black & white shirt, red shoes. But you probably can't return your ticket. :( come on by if you want to hang out dir a little while.

Hi everyone - I'm here at the theater just in case more tickets materialized, but no luck.

If anyone else is here, I'm out front in a brown jacket, jeans, red shoes. Maybe there's another place to watch?

So sorry everyone. I never expected them to sell out.

I really want to come & finally meet some of you but im recovery from an injury so might not make it. Since I won't recognize anyone, how will I find you?
Also, are most of you dressing up?

Should I try to find an aisle seat for you? They might have accessible seats too that are easier to get to.

Hi everyone - to answer questions. . .

The doors open at 2, the show starts at 4. I'll try to get there a little early to save a few seats together. (If you aren't able to make it, please change your RSVP so I don't hold a seat from someone else.)

In not dressing up. When I figure out what I'm wearing, I'll post it. I'll think of something recognizable.

    See you soon!
