"Secret San Francisco: Adventures in History" - this time its at the Vogue

OK - I blew it last time when this film was at the Balboa and didn't urge people to pre-purchase a ticket and it sold out. Who knew? Well we have another chance. Its playing at the Vogue on July 11th and I strongly recommend you buy your ticket when you RSVP.

This film is produced by the Western Neighborhoods Project. Its all about the western part of the City. (Too bad its not showing in the western part this time...)

Here is where you purchase it and watch the trailer:

Secret San Francisco: Adventures in History

Vogue Theatre (3290 Sacramento Street near Presidio)

Thursday, July 11,[masked]:00pm

"Secret San Francisco: Adventures in History" will consist of a program of selected short films, archival local television footage, newsreels, and other historically-inspired surprises. For those of you who enjoy our "SF West History Minutes" on the Web site, there will likely be a couple of new episodes debuting as well.

The evening will be hosted by SFNTF's Katherine Petrin and our own David Gallagher and Woody LaBounty. All three are sure to contribute historical tidbits, trivia, and humor.

Program begins at 7:00 p.m. Lets meet in the lobby at 6:45 (I'll try to get there earlier if I can and save a block of seats).

This show will sell out, please get your tickets early!

Hi Richmond District Hangout folks! I posted this on the Ocean Beach Buddies and am copying it here:

Hi everyone who attended! I sat in for the organizer, Karen, and I'm sorry things didn't go as well as she had planned. The Vogue was running behind, trying to get the theater set up for the presentations, so we ended up waiting outside in a long queue and couldn't gather to actually meet one another. Six of us went to Swank to discuss the movie afterwards, and were fortunate to meet the producers of the film, who coincidentally stopped by for a drink. Swank is a nice spot but was a bit too loud to have a discussion.

Anyway, I hope everyone learned something new about San Francisco and enjoyed the "interactive" watching mode.

I hope to see you again,
    Donna Shanelle

I saw this at the Balboa, and it is really fun. The audience participated and pointed out things they recognized. Enjoy everyone!
