ISO Friends and Like-Minded Ladies...
Recently it hit me - I need more female friends. Watching the movie Bridesmaids made me realize that my pool of applicants for my own bridesmaids would be pretty slim...
Most of my friends either live in other cities, or are male... one is a drag queen... Clearly, that's a stretch.
I've decided to take matters into my own hands to start actively looking for awesome, fun, self-confident, stylish young women around my age who also want to expand their social circle. We all want more than a warm body for company - we want real, genuine, friends with similar interests.
So what is this whole "outgoing introverts" part about?
Pretty much just what it says: women who identify as introverts, but also know how to turn on the charm and even if they don't go out every night, know how to enjoy a lively social atmosphere when once in awhile they do go all out.
I think we all desire a deeper connection with the people around us. I'm hoping that the contradictory nature of "outgoing introverts," resonates with and speaks to you. My hope is that this group will attract individuals who understand what that means.
What kind of events do we offer?
For myself and for a number of members that I've met, we're looking for a group of friends to be active with - and explore. We try to offer a range of "quieter" opportunities to gather - yoga, hikes, coffee dates, potlucks, and even pub trivia (it's can be a relatively quiet bar, we swear!) We also grab dinner and drinks together, check out different neighborhoods, and maybe even go for a run.
If you have an idea for a Meetup, schedule it! Unsurprisingly, this is the best possible way to find those other members with similar interests! On that same note though, because we all consider ourselves "outgoing introverts," we might require a little more recharge time, and we might all be a little more fulfilled by spending time together creating real connections.
