Julie organized this group to start getting out and meeting active, fun people who want to stay young and adventurous. And look where we are now!! We are an active group (of "Over 40" individuals) that loves being in the great outdoors whether it is hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, rafting, biking, horseback riding, camping, whatever-without being extreme about any one type of activity. We can also just sip a nice glass of vino and watch the sunset. This group is also about exploring venues of any other nature, whether it is an outdoor event, concert, museum, historical area, winery event, bowling-pretty much anything someone's interested in. So this is a mix of outdoor activities and social events-no dinner and movies for us on a regular basis. We have a terrific leadership team that always has great activities being planned, so check out our calendar. We also want to hear from the members about fun venues you have been to or would like to try. This is about getting out, making friends and having new experiences-maybe checking some of those items off your Bucket List-but most of all it's about having FUN!!! We laugh more than any group I've ever encountered. This group is open to all...single, married, divorced, separated, new to the area...as long as you want to be active, upbeat and young-minded and refuse to take turning 40, 50, or even 60 to 100 as bad news. So if you want to have fun with a truly great group of people, join us and start kickin it up!!!
Please be advised that we have one main requirement for membership. You must post a recognizable head shot for your main profile picture to participate. We need to be able to pick you out of a crowd from your picture on an RSVP list, which are small. No sunglasses or distance pictures and no additional friends or pets. It should go without saying, but we'll say it anyway, that unless you are very furry and actually walk on four legs, an animal picture won't work. Also, unless you're Mother Nature, a scenic view won't suffice.
We appreciate a minimum level of manners and responsibility. No-shows are the bane of an organizer's existence-imagine trying to set up events without knowing whether 5 or 50 are going to show up. Please be advised that we will remove you if you are a habitual No-show offender.
We do not need you to RSVP "No" to events you don't plan to attend. We assume you aren't attending unless you tell us that you are. But if you say you are coming, please either show up or change your RSVP to reflect that your plans have changed and you won't be joining us. That is just basic common courtesy.
Also, we are a fun group and appreciate an upbeat attitude. Considering the number of activities and participants, we have virtually no major issues with any of our events. Occassionally things don't go exactly as planned, but we still always have a great time, and everything works out. Remember that the organizers are VOLUNTEERS and work very hard to plan and carry out activities for huge numbers of people. So if you can be of help in any way, please step up and volunteer-even in small ways.
