Tempe Festival of the Arts

2012 Fall Festival | November 30-December 2
10am to 5pm | Admission is FREE

The Tempe Festival of the Arts consistently ranks among the Top 20 art festivals in the nation by Sunshine Artist and has received the Pinnacle Award from the International Festival and Events Association. The spring and fall events each attract nearly 225,000 visitors to the Mill Avenue District over the course of a 3-day weekend.

Quality artists are fundamental to the success of the event. Each Festival receives nearly 1,000 applications from artists from throughout North America. From these applicants, a jury comprised of members of the local art community selects the top artisans in each category to participate in the Festival. During the Festival, a new jury then selects the best overall artist and the top artist in each category.

Participants are separated into 18 different artistic categories for judging, ranging from woodwork to photography to ceramics and even wearable art. More than 350 artist booths line Mill Avenue and the surrounding streets presenting unique, and hand-made artwork that offers visitors a distinctive shopping experience.

While the Tempe Festival of the Arts focuses on visual art and the artists that create it, there also is a wide variety of other activities for guests to enjoy. Live entertainment provides fun for festival-goers. Performances throughout the venue keep audiences in high spirits throughout the day. In addition to the Festival Stage, street performers, vendors, sponsor exhibits and entertainment booths are set up for the amusement of Festival visitors. Visit the Arizona Wine Festival for tastings and sales by the glass, bottle, or case. And, enjoy The Art of Beer featuring local microbrewery sampling and sales. Kids can make free arts and crafts to take home at Kids Innovation Station. In addition to arts and entertainment, the Tempe Festival of the Arts offers support to the Tempe community. A portion of the proceeds raised at the Festival benefits local Tempe charities.

I was at the Tempe Fest yesterday and it is a great way to spend the afternoon! Huge! Lots of pretty things to look at. Vendor food was ok, but there are many good restaurants on Mill Ave. Enjoy!

It is where the Light Rail begins in Phoenix; Probably coming from Surprise area, would be best to go to I-17 and go South, then take the Bethany Home exit East till you come to 19th Avenue. I usually park near the Target store and the station is right there and you can get your ticket at one of the kiosks. We can wait till everyone is there or meetup in Tempe.

I don't know where that is, but i agree on the light rail. Can you help me find it?

    I agree on light rail!

I would suggest that we meet at the Montebello Light Rail Station at Bethany Home and 19th Avenue and take the train to avoid parking.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
