Swyncombe - Ewelme - Swyncombe Downs - 6.75 Miles

A delightful walk across open fields and downs with an abundance of wildflowers and butterflies (in the summer!), with one or two good climbs, but the panoramic views make the effort more than worthwhile.

We meet on the road outside the church at Swyncombe where there is ample parking space and depart at 10AM sharp. Satnavs might have some problems locating the church so notes supplied for the walk indicate:
"From Nettlebed take the B481 to Cookley Green, where you should bear left towards
Swyncombe and Ewelme, then follow signs to Swyncombe Church. Park on roadside by church."
The area is shown better in the Map link

For lunch afterwards, we will going to the Waterfront Cafe at Benson if numbers are small.

Walking World grading: Easy
Estimated walk end time: 13:00PM

We would welcome a donation of around 50p towards ongoing overhead costs associated with the Meetup service.

A pleasant new walk undertaken in not the best of conditions but once walking didn't notice the cold and wet too much, and the mud kept things interesting. Some great open countryside and picturesque villages visited. The start point near the church was very busy which hope is not the same when we do this walk again. Good to welcome some newcomers on the walk.

Good route. Would like to do it again in summer. Lovely varied scenery when I could see it through the snow and rain!! Seriously, was good fun despite the mud. Well organised, but the starting point was not the easiest place to find-also narrowly missed a large deer that jumped over a hedge right in front of my car on the way there! Thanks to Derek, Sandra, Jo and Manos for making it an enjoyable first outing with this group.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
