Oxford RESULTS group Meetup

  • Jan 7, 2014 · 7:30 PM
  • Opportunity International Oxford office

At our Meetups on the first Tuesday of each month we join a national conference call with other groups from across the UK. We learn about an issue and have the opportunity to hear from, and ask questions to, an expert in the field. We learn how to speak powerfully about the issue and then work together as a group to prepare to take action! ================

In this month's meeting we're going to be looking at girls' education. This is something that the Secretary of State Andrew Mitchell MP has been talking about a lot recently, but there's not yet much information about how the government are going to make contributions to improving the situation - and we therefore have a chance to input and make sure that what they do is as effective as possible. The speaker, Andrew Mamedu, is the Nigeria Country Director of ActionAid's TEGINT project, which is a fantastic project working to improve girls' education in Nigeria and Tanzania.
