The Folly Christmas Menu

Starters

Pheasant Rillettes

with dried cranberries, quince chutney, and brioche

French Onion Soup
Emmental crouton

Baked Portobello Mushroom (V/GF)

Baked flat mushroom, wilted spinach, melted goat’s cheese, and onion jam

Smoked Trout and Leek Quiche
Home smoked trout, sautéed leeks, crème fraiche

Main courses


Roasted Pheasant (can be served GF)
Calvados flambé roasted pheasant breast, pigs in a blankets, prune scented jus,  bread sauce, apple puree and cranberries. Served with roasted chateau potatoes  with garlic and parsley, steamed carrots, Brussels sprouts and wilted greens

Beef Bourgignon

Chin of beef marinated in red wine, onions, garlic and Provencal herbs, slowly  cooked to tender, served with a creamy mature cheddar mashed potato

Baked Hake Steak (can be served GF)
Hake steak topped up with a Provencal crust, served with a ratatouille and fresh  tomato sauce

Butternut Squash and Chickpea Tagine (V/GF)
Moroccan style vegetable tagine with cumin, coriander, preserve lemon, toasted  almonds, yoghurt, fresh coriander, and fluffy couscous grain

Desserts

Melon and Raspberry Melba (V/GF)
Cantaloupe melon balls, rum melon puree, covered with a smooth raspberry coulis,  mellowed by a raspberry and strawberry sorbet

Chocolate and Chestnut Yule Log
Light vanilla sponge cake rolled with a chocolate and chestnut mousse, topped up  with a chocolate cream

Grand Maman Apricot Tart
Fresh caramelised apricots on a light crème patissiere and puff pastry

Oxford blue cheese, French Brie (Can be served GF)
Creamy blue cheese and French brie, homemade quince and apple chutney, served  with a homemade oat biscuit


Note: Please note that we are using fresh seasonal  products, and that changes on the menu may occur if a product is unavailable  during the Christmas season
