A circular walk leaving the village hall car park going through the village and past the disused quarry and more importantly Jane's waterside tea gardens along the canal edge, then through countryside to Bletchingdon before making our way back to the car park and making our way to Jane's for a drink and or a cream tea ( Jane is not making sandwiches or savoury on Saturdays). This could be muddy in some areas so please wear suitable footwear.
Start Point- 10.00 start.
We meet in the village hall car park which is accessed via the small track (south green) opposite The Dashwood Arms restaurant. It is signposted at the junction but you can easily miss it. There is plenty of parking providing there isn't an event on at the v hall...so please park considerately. The area is better shown in this Map Link
We start the walk at 10.00AM sharp. (Please ensure you're at the start point at least 10 mins beforehand).
Walking grading: Easy.
Dog friendliness: walked it with my dog - there are horses and sheep in some fields and a short walk on the main road.
Estimated walk end time: 12:30 PM
No Lunch cream tea only - no cakes today.
Its not lunch as such but a cream tea and a drink... we will probably be going to Jane's waterside tea gardens on the canal side - it is outside and under canopies - a very interesting place to go to - she has chickens thats provide the eggs for her baking so its all homemade....yummy !
If you would like to go please post a request for a place at lunch below --------v.
If I don't see a request I will assume "No" for lunch.
We like to reduce the impact on the areas we visit and its sometimes difficult to find places with adequate parking, so we encourage lift shares with our regular drivers.
If you need a lift, please post below indicating that you'd like a lift and from which general part of Oxford and surrounding villages you would like to get picked up. There is sometimes a better chance of being picked up from one of the Park & Rides as people use the ring road en-route. There are some guidance notes on our message boards here.
Please ask for a lift ASAP even if you're on the waiting list when you do so as the list is constantly changing.
We would welcome a donation of around £1 towards ongoing overhead costs associated with the Meetup service and ancillary costs.
My telephone number is .......for last minute cancellations or directions if lost...
