Walk - Goring - Cold Harbour circular, 6 miles (9.5 km)

Beth is leading this circular walk around Goring.

From the banks of the River Thames this walk follows an undulating route in an arc to the north, east and south of Goring, passing through a succession of attractive wooded areas.

Near the end there are superb views across the Thames Valley to the Berkshire Downs.

Some moderately muddy stretches in the woods but all the climbs are modest and gradual, and overall the walk looks dog friendly too with a low stile count which are easy to get through.

Start Point

We meet in the council car park behind The Catherine Wheel in Goring (which is free on a Sunday), look out for the big yellow mini. The area is better shown in this Map link

We start the walk at 10AM sharp. (Please ensure your at the start point at least 10 mins beforehand).

Walking grading: Moderate (Approx Height gain ?).

Dog friendliness: Low stile count.

Estimated walk end time: 12:30 - 12:45PM

Lunch

For lunch afterwards, we will be trying The Catherine Wheel itself, which it says is the oldest pub in Goring, and a Sunday roast costs £7.95 (that's before adding any puds), choice is likely to be beef, pork or turkey.

If you would like to go to lunch, please update your RSVP comment with "Lunch" before any other comments entered.

If we don't see a request will assume "No" for lunch.

We would welcome a donation of around £1 towards ongoing overhead costs associated with the Meetup service and ancillary costs.

For new members or walkers, please read the Walkers Guide thread in the forum.

Glad the weather stayed fine this time and that everyone who turned up to do the walk enjoyed it so much. Nice mix of woods and hills on this walk, but doesn't take in the river Thames at Goring, but I do have another in the area which does, maybe do that some time.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
