Weekly Language Exchange meetups at The Cape Good Hope pub

WHAT HAPPENS at Tuesday evening's language exchange meetings?

Just sit down and join in the conversation. If you are new, then the hosts will try to introduce you to people. We average anything from maybe 5 to 30 people. You don't have to arrive at 8pm but we usually finish by 10 or 11pm.

The emphasis on Tuesdays is to speak foreign languages but it is also an English speaking night too. The most common languages spoken are French, Spanish and English. However, you may also find speakers of other languages such as Japanese, German, Italian or Russian. We can run a language table for any language if enough people attend to socialise and practice that language.

WHO ARE THESE SOCIAL MEETINGS FOR?

Whether you are a complete beginner or fluent in English or another language spoken at these meetings, you will always find someone with whom you can make a conversation and practice your hard-earned language skills. Likewise, if you are studying a language, then here's your chance to practice it with native speakers!

Please note that there is no specific host for these Tuesday meetups so whoever arrives at the bar first, please just find a good sized table and introduce yourself to the bar staff, so that anyone who turns up, can find you. Note that for these meetups to succeed, please RSVP in advance as that will encourage others to do likewise.

You can also search for news and look for a one-to-one language exchange partner via 'Oxford Language Lounge' facebook pages.

Actually, it should be busy at this time of year but I stopped attending myself on Tuesdays as hardly anyone would ever RSVP in advance and I am interested in attending events if I can see who says they are going to come. Thursday, I will take about 20 students to The Turf tavern pub though.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
