Hey Andrew, a great meeting, good to see so much participation. What with the comings and goings I left my SD card in one of the Pi machines. A guy was settingup bitcoin mining on it, it has a hostname of "mitchell", it is a farnell card, labeled "Dec 2012" or there abouts, could I get it back from you next meeting. CU Ross

It was great afternoon! I learned a lot from the great presentations of Andrew, Peter and Alex and was very lucky to win a door prize of a 4GB SD Card with RASPBMC image for my raspberry pi.
Thanks a lot Andrew for organizing the event and for your leadership in this meetup group.

Just wanna say I admire what you're up to here. I'm not an 'educator', but if I can help in some capacity, if you need help, let me know! (If you don't ask, you don't get!)

    Hey Stonie,

A couple of questions regarding Saturday?

    1) you have an agenda for the day yet? Are you working through a training style day, or is it more like a hackday where people bring along their projects (or indeed a little of both). 2) I have a 10 year old boy who i'd love to get into the Pi with and maybe help some of his friends at school, so 'm trying to work out if the session is relevant to me and whether he would get any value from coming along too?

Question 1: The First half is an introductory talk from first principals followed by basic guided hands on labs. Second half will comprise of micro talks and open format hackspace. Question 2: Alex will be giving a micro talk on Minecraft and there will be the opportunity to have a play. So yes please bring your kids along! I will post the official agenda shortly, once I have finalised a few last details with the Guys at the Powerhouse. Cheers, Stonie.

I am not present any event, as I am at Shenzhen in china. But I love discuss some embedded questions with other persons. And I want to make some fun platform.

Hi, I want to get a second Pi, will there be any available for sale there? It was available when Element14 hosted it.

Note: I am also a Rastrack registered user.

There are no plans at this stage to sell units on the day. However you are welcome to bring along your own gear/project if you wish. I would suggest the e14 or RS websites in you need another Pi. - Cheers Stonie.

    Hi Mates,
I've a RPi, and a project (certainly common): using the RPi as a mediacenter. Watch videos/share hard drive. I may use it as a tiny server. Could you help by telling what and where I should buy to get this working ?
So far, I believe I need (hardware):
    - SD card
    - power source for 1 or 2 hard drive (2.5 inches )
    - usb hub: some free usb port (1 or 2) to connect Usb key, and one for a wireless keyboard
    - wifi dongle Cheers.

While I have zero experience on the Pi, I have developed software so conceptually I should be ok. Is there a teaching toolset / guide?

The best way to get started is by getting your hands on one and having a go. the getting setup guide is here: http://wiki.ozberrypi...
