The Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead was once part of John Holcombe's New Jersey plantation. His will dates its activity back to about 1742. A museum is housed in a restored three story bank barn that was built into the hillside to make both floors accessible from ground level.
Several outbuildings were added during the restoration of the property. Those outbuildings include:
The Print Shop
The 1711 House
The Doctor/Dentist Office
The Tractor Barn
For those who love their HDR, this location is perfect!
Because space is limited inside these structures, the number of attendees will also be limited. Tripod use will be permitted, but you will be required to sign a release in order to use it. Only respond to this event if you're relatively sure you'll be able to attend. The Farmstead is closed this time of year, but has agreed to open its doors especially for us! Docents are being brought in for the day to facilitate this tour, so please be considerate of the Farmstead's efforts on our behalf.
The fee for this event is $15.00 cash to be paid at the entrance and will go directly to the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead.
The buildings are not heated, so please dress accordingly.
