South Beach State Park Camping (This is a 2 night event)

Transportation: There is a MAX of 4 vehicles allowed for these two sites. 2 are included in the cost of the campsite fee and 2 are at a cost of $5 each per night ($20). This is included in the $12 reservation fee. At the prep meeting, we will discuss carpooling.

Family: Kids are ALWAYS welcome on my camping ventures. Camping is about bringing people together. However, if yours cries at 2 in the morning, so will I. :(

Check - In: 4:00pm Friday night. I will NOT be there at 4pm, but more likely closer to 7pm. However, you are more than welcome to show before me and get situated.

Check - Out: 11:00 am Sunday morning.

I will schedule a preparation meeting prior to the camping so we can coordinate. Minimum gear you should have is a tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, eating utensils, firewood, and appropriate clothing. I have a grill, stove, camping kitchen, pots, pans, etc. Again, we will go over this as well as meal planning at the planning meetup prior to the weekend.

South Beach State Park and the surrounding areas offer a variety of recreational opportunities.

One of the most exciting additions to the program at South Beach: kayak tours. Folks who register for the activity will launch from nearby Ona Beach (5 miles south) and spend two hours exploring the fascinating Beaver Creek area with a guide.

Other activities around the park include fishing, crabbing, boating, windsurfing and beachcombing. Attractions nearby include the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, marine life exhibits at the Hatfield Marine Science Center and the Oregon Coast Aquarium.

These are just a few of the opportunities you will encounter when you visit and explore the central Oregon coast.

Kayak Tours
Kayak tours are offered starting July 4 Thru Labor day weekend. No experience necessary. South Beach State Park supplies the kayaks, paddles, lifejackets (PFDs), and interpretive host guides. Minimum age is 6. Paddlers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. $15 per person (subject to change). All trips start at the Hospitality Center at South Beach State Park. All trips include about 2 hours of paddling. Reservations strongly recommended. Reservations can be made beginning June 1, 2011 by calling the Hospitality Center at [masked] or by visiting in person.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
