Cards Night East, 3rd Tuesday, 6:30pm

Come on out for cards, fun and friendly competition! This is our weekly general meetup, so we play a variety of games depending on the interests and experience of whoever attends. We teach whatever we play if someone is unfamiliar or needs a refresher.  New players should feel welcome.

East-side meetup is currently using The Space Room Lounge.  Look in the street-corner half, where there are windows and lighting.

Meetup Guidelines:

RSVP preferred, but not necessary.  RSVPs do help us plan games, and know when we should kill time for pending arrivals or settle in for the evening.

Come whenever, but you won't necessarily get dealt into something immediately.  If you know when you'll likely arrive, that's good to put in your RSVP.

Organizers will stay until at least 8pm, and usually much later if there are people playing.  Meetups at this location have run as late as 2am.

Tell friends!  Tell people you don't even know!  Suggest places/times/ideas for meetups in the message boards ( http://www.meetup.com/PDX-Card-Games/messages/boards/ ) or to orgs directly.  We want to hear from you!

FYI we found a small, knit hat on the bench against the wall. So if you are missing a hat, come to cards sometime soon and get it.

Looks like you are just using the meld list from Pagat, so here's a link: http://www.pagat.com/marriage/pindd.html

The discussion board is probably good for sharing/discussing rules and such. We bring reference sheets for several games, and a book of card game rules to refer to, and you are welcome to bring your own materials as well.

How do I share a file on this web site? ie .doc, .pdf

I'm trying to share the Pinochle meld sheet but it's doesn't cut and paste very well.

Type Combination Single Double Triple Quadruple
    Type I
Runs and Marriages Run - Ace, Ten, King, Queen, Jack of trumps[masked]
Royal Marriage - King and Queen of trumps[masked]
Marriage - Kings and Queen of the same suit, not trumps[masked]
Note: A run in a suit other than trumps is not worth anything more than the marriage score for the king and queen.
Type II - Pinochles Pinochle - Jack of diamonds & Queen of spades[masked]
    Type III
Arounds Aces around - An Ace in each suit[masked]
Kings around - A King in each suit[masked]
Queens around - A Queen in each suit[masked]
Jacks around - A Jack in each suit[masked]
Note: A set of tens is not worth anything in meld.

Meetup details changed to work around our usual schedule hitting Christmas. Note this is a SE meetup, not a Beaverton meetup.
