July's Pack Walk will take us to the Willamette river, in West Linn. The Clackamas/West Linn/Oregon City area has lots of beautiful parks and recreation trails to explore, and we will start with the popular Mary S Young Park, on the banks of the Willamette.
"Mary S. Young State Park offers you a peaceful place to walk or sit by the Willamette River. This quiet, forested park is a favorite for urban birders. As you walk deeper into the forest on the numerous trails (5-8 miles worth), it's easy to forget you're in a city. It's a quick but refreshing stop if you don't have time for a drive to the country." - Oregon State Parks
This is a great opportunity to see an area near Portland that is often overlooked by its residents. After our usual 2-3 miles Pack Walk along some of the trails, your dog will be able to enjoy an off leash play area, to burn off any extra enthusiasm for being in such a great park.
Our monthly Pack Walks are fun, social, outdoor walks with our dogs between 1-3 miles, in and around the Portland OR metro area. The monthly walk is scheduled the first Saturday, at 10:00, with changing locations.
