This will be our 7th Meetup!
Last week I found out that the Portland QS group is the only one in the world so far who has regularly scheduled meetups every month! I found out about this in a conversation with Adam Butterfield from SJSU, a graduate student who worked with Gary to come up with research questions that will be helpful to QS a whole.
So, far it looks like nobody has RSVPd for next week's meetup, so it could be that we are too small of a group to support monthly meetups, or that I just haven't done enough work to promote it.
I will be there anyway and I hope a few people show up so we can have a spirited and inspiring discussion like we usually do.
There is no one scheduled to do a presentation yet. But I will try to encourage some of the people who have attended before to present something by next week.
If no one volunteers we can have an open discussion about what people are doing or I can share some of the things I learned at the Amsterdam conference at the end of November.
At the last meetup we talked about finding a different location, maybe at one of the startups downtown or at Collective Agency so that it would be easier to find and we can accomodate larger groups potentially.
I am also looking for help with organizing as I haven't been able to put a lot of time into it.
It would be great if someone had time to spread the word more about the meetup in various communities in town and find people who are interested in presenting their experiences.
