Fir Grove Park Lazer Tag?

Michael here,

Formerly an active member of and now the organizer of Portland Lazer Tag (PDX-LT). The group has transitioned from Meetup to Facebook (has its ups and downs).

Anyway, if you like outdoor activities, Lazer Tag is a lot of fun, especially played in local area parks (Mt. Tabor, Laurelhurst & Kenilworth in Portland, and Fir Grove in Beaverton).

I'm trying to scrape up a last-minute game for tomorrow after work (~5:30 PM) at Fir Grove Park ( in Beaverton. We generally meet briefly at the playground on the SE corner of the park for the introduction & then venture into the heart of it.

Cost is $2/ea to defray battery costs (pretty cheap for a couple hours of fun cardio). I provide all the gear, batteries & a brief intro / explanation at the outset. Then we play for a couple hours.

We use Hasbro's Lazer Tag Team Ops gear:

(Playlist with the cheesy Team Ops commercials & equipment tutorials)

I suggest bringing clothing suitable for sneaking / running, possibly getting a little dirty (it is a foresty park / "nature" after all). It never hurts to bring some water too, especially on warm days. And/or snacks.

DISCLAIMER: It's nature, it's a sporting activity. This includes the usual risks, including but not limited to falls, insects, blackberry bushes and other dangers of playing in nature. Use your best judgment. Participation indicates acceptance of these risks and that you'll hold me / PDX-LT harmless in the event of accident / injury.

Sorry, had to say it. That said, the game is really fun and you'll most likely really enjoy it. ^_^

Sorry it's kinda really short notice. Again... There's a slightly longer list of events (which I should probably update) on the PDX-LT FB group.

Hope to maybe see some folks come out. Feel free to join the FB group & RSVP there, too.

This sounds like great fun! I would totally go if it wasn't so last minute! Any possibility to get games in Portland. Beaverton's not so far away though.

      & yeah, it's hella fun!

P.S. As an aside, Fred Meyer currently has single-packs the latest generation of taggers on sale in the NERF aisle currently for ~$20/ea (reg. ~$40), if anyone's feeling impetuous enough to buy their own units. ^_^ The latest generation isn't bad (has its pluses and minuses).

Just saying. Though I have plenty of gear for hosting games and do try to host them regularly if I can get enough players.

Used to be an avid paintball player back in high school so this seems like the next best thing! Looking forward to next time! That's great you can supply the equipment! Thanks for the info!

Here's hoping the weather holds for tomorrow. Though it seems like there might be clouds / rain / thunderstorms moving in? =o\ Will keep an eye on the forecast / weather for tomorrow.

May have to cancel if the weather's looking too iffy. Will play it by ear tho' & hope for the best. ^_^

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
