A correction to something I said during the meeting. I said that "Fritzing" could be used to simulate Arduino boards and circuits. That's incorrect, Fritzing does not have that feature. The service that does have Arduino simulation is http://123d.circuits.io/
There are also a few other simulators out there Apologies for my mis-statement.

Hi Rob,Here are a couple of those for-rent hobby/art spaces I mentioned :

Also found a couple pages about accessing Arduino from Cocoa. Here's what someone wrote about that:
"Now I understand some people are probably wondering why you would want to use Cocoa instead of Processing, the reason I have is: if you use Cocoa over Processing you can have a full Computer Application (e.g. Safari, Mail, iCal) that can have a physical output. (e.g. Lights, motors, servos)"
Interesting. That implies (to me), that one should also be able to interface with it from Applescript (and therefore Automator), not to mention Terminal.app. That could be very powerful.

After the meetup, i began to wonder if Apple's Xcode could be used for Arduino development, so did some googling. I'm wondering if any of you guys have tried embedXcode (Arduino on Xcode)? Here are some links:
Nice to meet folks and see these cool projects. And ADX is an incredible space.
Very enjoyable meetup. Fellowship with like-minded makers. ADX is always welcoming.
Rock ON! great project! thank you for sharing.
This was my first PDXElectroHax meetup… i really enjoyed it; very interesting. I like the collaborative atmosphere and networking. Will be back for more and hope to contribute eventually.

Hi. I just updated the event description. Should be a great lineup!
Have family visiting so looks like I'll not be able to attend. Sad to miss the meeting but great to see family.

I'm looking for some help with Arduino Serial communication on arduino Leonardo. If anyone has serial and RS485 experience with Arduino the issue I'm having is detailed at the link below. Any advice is appreciated and I'm willing to trade access to 3D printing for code/hardware help.

Hi Peter. If this proves useful I do have some small parts I'd like printed. I'm much more familiar with RS232 but I did a quick search and found the following page. It isn't for your specific shield but does show how to wire up a RS485 bus. Specifically, note the resistors connected to the A & B lines. Can you confirm if your shield has the resistors as shown?
Heh, here's the link (don't you hate it when that happens?) http://arduino-info.w...
Hi Peter. I'm not very familiar with the Leonardo nor with the RS485 protocol but I'm a pretty good troubleshooter so if you don't figure this out on your own I'd be happy to collaborate in a Google Hangout some evening or weekend.
