What's new in the shared economy? over ping pong and beverage.

It sounds like Airbnb will be legal in PDX soon, and they'll have a huge building in town. They're going public soon. Are they really worth 10 billion?

Spinlister is again sponsoring, so bring a guest and have a complimentary beverage. We play pong until 630, then chat for an hour. Bring your game and any shared economy gripes, ideas and good vibes. If you haven't done so, check out Spinlister.com and rent out your skis, snowboards, and bikes to others visiting PDX. And rent from them when traveling around, including Europe. Great deals. Great gear. As usual, I'll have some shwag on hand from Spinlister, plus some old stuff from my Airbnb days that I just found in the garage. If anyone has ideas for meetups, please shoot. In May, perhaps we will meet later in the evening.

I created an online document with all of the news and services we talked about during this meetup. To get to it, click on the "Discussions" link at the top and then click the link called "Shared Economy Resources" and all of the details are listed there. Or, you can try copying and pasting the URL below directly into your browser:

Let me know if you think this will be useful!

Jim, I added your info. Please feel free to modify (it's easy to do and I can help if you'd like).

Leslie/Nicole, feel free to use anything that I put out there and let me know if I can be of any additional help!

That was fun (and the fish and chips were decent, too). I'd like to see more discussion about non-profit and informal "shared economy" structures as well, the type of system that is directed by the actual users.

Thanks for coming everyone. Had a great time meeting everyone. Next time, we'll do it at the Punchbowl downtown from 7-9pm.
