Dune

Far in the future, six factions vie for control of the planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, source of the most precious substance in the universe—Spice.  Who will you command: the noble Atreides?  The sinister Harkonnen?  The Emperor himself?  The manipulative Bene Gesserit?  The all-powerful Spacing Guild?  Or the hardy Fremen, who fight to keep their home free from outside control?

Join us every other Sunday to decide the fate of Dune ... and the universe!

(Note: stillsuits are optional. Also, my household is home to several cats; allergy sufferers beware.)

Anyone unfamiliar with the game is encouraged to read the rules and player pad.

    Thanks for hosting Jason it was great fun as usual. A very lucky break for the Bad Guy alliance when Chani betrayed the Fremen at the behest of the Baron.

    I have some questions regarding the rules you will be using.

    1. Will faction-specific Karama powers only be allowed to be used once per game?

    2. When using a Karama card to buy a card up for bid, does it allow you to bid above your current spice supply, or does it immediately win you the card without the need to bid?

    3. Are you using the double spice blow/advanced combat rules?
    3a. If so, are the Fremen exempt from having to pay spice in non-stronghold battles?

    4. How many people are allowed in an alliance?

    5. Does revealing a traitor card cause the opponent to lose the battle, his troops, and leader, or just lose his leader?

      4. I have decided to limit alliances to two. In our last session, we played a game with six and one with five; even though one faction was left out of alliance in the second game, they still were able to bargain well enough at nexus to convince another faction to switch. Three per alliance would be too limiting.

      5. Revealing a traitor results in loss of the leader, cards, and tokens.
