With the positive response to the session earlier in the month, here is a follow-up game. This will be for new and experienced players. According to BGG it takes 3 hours to play but plan for 4 with new players.

A link to the rules and video tutorial:

A few ground rules for my meetups:

1) Please only sign up if you are pretty darn sure you can make it.

2) Please make an attempt to read the rules (Or at least watch the tutorial). I certainly don't mind going over how to play for new players, but reading the rules beforehand gets us going earlier and makes for a more competitive game.

3) If you have to cancel due to life's unruly nature, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. This is a courtesy to all players and particularly those on the wait-list.

Any of you guys interested in Twilight Imperium this Saturday night (5/4/13)? Starting around 5-5:30. I have at least 2 players plus myself so far. Not sure we'll play with less than 5. I'm texting David my email.

If you ever want to suggest a future date, David and I are both group organizers; either of us can schedule a meetup for you.

Excellent game. Everyone had at least a moment of success...

Yeah, I had a lot of fun. In daydreaming about it today in class, I realized it may have potentially been my mistake that handed the game to David so suddenly (in addition to his perceptive routed-snagging of the keep in the middle area). If I hadn't been so focused on my own conquest in taking out your navy outside of Dragonstone, I might have noticed David's focus, like the evil, all-seeing eye of Sauron, on Storms End or whatever it was down there. Oh well. That just goes to show that we should have all heeded my advice - GET HIM!

Sorry again for having to slip out before the end ... so, who won?

    April 30, 2013

No worries at all Jason. It was a late night and you certainly had a good reason. We just turned your forces neutral.

After re-bidding on the throne it was Greyjoy's to lose but their accountants forgot how many castles they actually owned. They also forgot they needed to keep some power tokens around to leave behind after they finished summering in their latest estate. Tyrell won the day with a crafty retreat into one of those unoccupied castles and then an amphibious assault on Baratheon.

I (re)bought the expansion house cards for if/when we feel comfortable enough to switch it up a bit. I think Bryan had mentioned it, but it plays over only 6 rounds as a maximum and starts with houses spread pretty thinly and close to each other so there will be clashes (of Kings!) pretty much straight out of the gate.

I think what I was mostly disappointed about before was who was comprising House Stark and their available cards. I wasn't to that point in the story yet..

Although not explicit, these characters and the board set up is meant to be taking place after the end of the fifth book, so be forewarned if you're interested in not having the story even mildly spoiled.

Err.. and by buying the cards, I meant that if/when we feel comfortable enough with the base game and want to switch it up a bit, either in this sanctioned game or wherever else, the cards and set up will be ready.

Going to have to cancel, unfortunately. My new job has me working Monday through Friday, four to ten. I'm so disappointed.

Gratz on the new job but sorry to hear you are out Louis.

"You don't truly know the person till you fight them. I've learned that from the movie, "The Matrix 2".

My slogan is, "Play for nothing or fight for something, your call". That's an adaptation from the movie Rambo IV 2008, "Live for nothing or die for something, your call".
