What games do you normally play?

Just getting into board games more seriously. While I'm open to check out anything, I gravitate towards the more thematic and enjoyable games, as opposed to the dry, abstract, bean counting games. Sorry Euros. I own Pandemic, A Game of Thrones, Manhattan Project, Libertalia, Merchant of Venus, Eclipse, Space Cadets, Mage Wars, and Mice and Mystics. Unfortunately, it's been proving difficult to find people to play within my normal circles, so here I am! I've bought Smash Up, cavemen, and quarriors. Add that to my impulsively bought list.

What games are you dying to play that you do not currently own?

I'm open to suggestions. I have my eye on Kingsburg, Star Trek Fleet Captains, Battles of Westeros, Escape, Merchants and Marauders, Smash Up, and Fairy Tale. Being an impulse buyer, I typically fall much more on the side of "dying to play and subsequently purchase very quickly."

How much time do you normally invest in a single session of a game?

Depends on my schedule. I'm a student, so sometimes time can be limited, but if a timeframe can be set up that works for me, I could sit and play games all day.

Which PDX locations do you prefer when it comes to playing lengthy games?

I now live in NW just off 23rd, so the closer to me the better, because I'm selfish! But, I own a car and am willing to drive I guess.. ;) Wherever, whenever is my motto.

I like (most) games and I like (most) people.

What Matthew L. is saying about this Meetup Group

Great group. It's small, so it has a core group of really cool people, which is definitely something I can appreciate and gravitate towards.
