  • Hey @all,

we like to invite you to our monthly meetup at the trivago tower in Düsseldorf.

In June, we got one awesome talk:
Michael Hackstein (@mchacki) will talk about "Polyglot Persistence & Multi-Model NoSQL Databases".

In many modern applications the database side is realized using polyglot persistence – store each data format (graphs, documents, etc.) in an appropriate separate database.
This approach yields several benefits, databases are optimized for their specific duty, however there are also drawbacks:

    * keep all databases in sync
    * queries might require data from several databases
    * experts needed for all used systems

A multi-model database is not restricted to one data format, but can cope with several of them.

In this talk Michael will present how a multi-model database can be used in a polyglot persistence setup and how it will reduce the effort drastically.

    About the speaker:
Michael is a JavaScript and NoSQL enthusiast. In his spare time he is organizing colognejs, the JavaScript user group in Cologne, Germany scheduled every second month. In his professional life Michael is member of the ArangoDB core team and developing the web frontend and graph visualization for this project.

This talk can be held in German or English. The speaker will ask before starting about english people and is able to do both languages :)

    Start is at 7pm.

This meetup is for free, beer is available (for free as well!) and we like to see you there :)

PS: We are aware of the fact that this is not the regular date. The reason are 1) the june is full of public holidays 2) trivago got some events in this month.
We hope that you got time anyway :)
