~ 6 Years
I have recently identified myself as a much stronger back-end developer than a front end developer. I am working on my CSS skills and a little JS to balance that out.
EVERYTHING! I'd like to get a better handle on OOP because my mindset is still very sequential and procedural due to my BASIC / PASCAL beginnings. There's a lot of developer vocab that still hits me as buzzwords or jargon, so I need to grap the true meaning of these words. For example: Framework, MVC, IDE... I can easily get the dictionary definition, but that's not the same as KNOWING what they are, how to use them, and why they are needed / helpful.
Pretty much anything having to do with PHP / MySQL web developing including Linux and Apache server maintenance, coding best practices, developing environments...
I learned c=64 BASIC when I was in elementary school, TRS80 basic as a freshman, PASCAL as a Junior and then pretty much did no programming for a few years. I then fiddeled around with qbasic for a while and finally my friend offered me a job in PHP.
We had a good time. We laughed a lot. We talked about everyting from Raspberry Pi to 9/11 to crashing hard drives and the best way to destroy unwanted data (maybe the firing range or the junk yard). OH, and job opportunities in Tampa.
