How long have you been developing with PHP?

I started programming with PHP in early 2002. I was a novice developer at the time and I quickly learned to love the syntax, the supporting community, and the dynamic and weakly typed nature of the language. Ironically, I prefer the opposite now :-)

Do you consider yourself a front-end or back-end developer?

Mostly front-end, although I am familiar with and have done both extensively. Interesting question as I see PHP limited in scope for back-end tasks.

What do you hope to learn from the members of this group?

How do other PHP developers mitigate the downfalls of a dynamic, non-compiled, weakly typed language? Expensive IDE's and softcore nootropics? Teach me how to be more effective in PHP.

What topics would you like to discuss?

Anything any everything technology or PHP related.
