I started skiing when I was 8 years old while living in Oregon. My mom would take us up to Willamette Pass or Mt. Bachelor. I started snowboarding when I was 18 and really enjoy it. I love each of the two sports for different reasons. You can certainly carry a lot more speed on skis and it's much easier to control your lines on those tough double black diamond runs. On the other hand snowboarding has a much more fluid, carving motion to it not to mention catching air seems to be quite a bit easier on the snowboard.
Day trips to snowbowl and sunrise are great but I'd like to get involved with some of the groups over night trips. Whistler-Blackombe is on my bucket list <hint hint organizers>.
I have an AWD Honda CRV that seats four if someone has a roof rack we can use. I usually get around 25 to 26 mpg.
I joined because I'd like to meet people that share my love for this sport as well as the mountains in general. Looking forward to riding with some of you.
