Hello Fellow Foodies!!

What fun we've been having meeting and eating at the restaurants of East Pittsburgh! Next stop is a very special experience!

I have received many suggestions for the this Ethiopian Restaurant located in East Liberty on S. Highland. This meetup is limited to twelve and is members only. Looking forward as usual!

According to Wikipedia:

Ethiopian cuisine characteristically consists of spicy vegetable and meat dishes, usually in the form of wat (or wot), a thick stew, served atop injera, a large sourdough flatbread,[1] which is about 50 centimeters (20 inches) in diameter and made out of fermented teff flour.[1] Ethiopians eat with their right hands, using pieces of injera to pick up bites of entrées and side dishes.[1] Utensils are rarely used with Ethiopian cuisine.

This was a great place! Great service and the food was awesome. Neat way to eat too! The round table made for easy communication and lots of laughs! A good time for all!!

I filled this out before it disappeared into this air. I liked the restaurant. The service was excellent even though they were busy. The round table facilitated conversation. A blessing was the valet parking just around the corner. The company was as delightful as usual.

Hi Lisa, I really don't want to miss this one especially since it was my suggestion and it is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh, but I have play tickets at CMU at 8... do you think it'll be manageable? Are they taking separate checks there...? Remember last time I went there I think it was still BYOB as I mentioned too...

Hi Lauri! Yes there will be separate checks and thanks for the BYOB reminder. I couldn't say if the timing would work with you plans.

This place looks great. I am new to this so I did not get my name on the list in time. I should be # 8 on the waiting list. Thanks.

Regarding setting up a second reservation, this group is based on the fact that we dine in a small party to get to know each other. I have received wonderful feedback regarding this concept as that was truly the basis of this group being formed. I welcome you to check back closer to the date as I am sure that a few will end up having other plans as most events have shown. I would definitely entertain the idea of having a second meetup at Abay should it prove to be enjoyable.

I, too, am on the wait list, and I have been wanting to to here. So I hope that you enjoy it enough to plan to go back on another day, in the new year.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
