We are so excited to welcome back Andrea Howe of BossaNova Consulting Group for the next Reston Luncheon!

How to Deliver Bad News and Build Trust at the Same Time Andrea Howe

On August 15th at Carrabba’s near the Reston Town Center, Andrea Howe, President of the BossaNova Consulting Group will discuss how there comes a time in every project when the inevitable happens: things don’t go according to plan and bad news must be delivered. In a business environment marked by tight budgets, short time-frames, and rising stress levels, this happens more often than we’d like. Andrea will offer up ways to communicate tough messages to customers, sponsors, and other stakeholders such that trust levels actually increase rather than decrease. Attendees will learn how to see bad news as an opportunity instead of a liability and will walk away with specific best practices that can be immediately applied, including a time-tested technique for putting hard truths on the table in a socially acceptable way.

Agenda: 11:00-12:00 Networking, 12:00-1:00 Program
Cost: $23 (includes lunch & 1 PDU)
Location: Carrabba’s Italian Grill
Pre-Registration: PMIWDC.org (Required)

Each month we strive to bring you interesting and informative speakers from a wide range of professions. We present these speakers to you in a casual setting that allows you to network with other professionals of the PMI. We meet every third Wednesday of the month at various locations throughout Reston. You can view Andrea Howe’s or any other pastpresentations here.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
