Fiverr: Building Better Products through Fact Driven Design

Everyone talks about the importance of data in the work of product people, designers and growth hackers. Choosing the right time to integrate data into your product design cycle can make the difference between a successful product and a struggling one.
Knowing when and how to incorporate the use of factual data into the creative process is a key to building successful products.

Shai Wininger, Co-founder & CTO at Fiverr will talk about how building an experimentation culture is a key to building a successful product, team and company.

Shai Wininger, Co-Founder & CTO at Fiverr

Shai founded several companies over the past 23 years, serving as CEO, CTO and HBD (Head of Beer Drinkin').
Before Fiverr, Shai lead innovation in internet, mobile games (the pre-iPhone era) and most recently digital aircraft maintenance for the aerospace industry (Ah??).
Shai was a contributor in various tech and design magazines and a teacher and speaker in leading academies in the fields of internet and mad science design.
Shai is a strong believer in hard work and having fun while doing it. A little secret a few people know about Shai: his best ideas come in the shower (and Fiverr was one of those...).

Great presentation. Would have been great to incorporate some extra opinions and views on the market, current and future e-commerce trends and ways to address them both efficiently and in a timely manner.

A Five Dollar Product no longer costs $5 . Is that a Product Design or marketing, Branding and Strategy Failure. You can't expect to retain Goodwill under the circumstances. How about a retort from anyone of the speakers or attendees..

The whole concept of the "Fiverr" is deceptive as invariably the registered postage is considerably more than $5 and from the states $15 using USPS . eBay equally have this issue and they require sellers to state te postage with the listing.

Fiver is still a nice innovative Israeli Apps. does it have a Long Term future . Hmmmmmm Has anyone giving these issues some thought.?

Stephen, Fiverr is not just a nice Israeli app. It's already gone global. It empowers people in places without work to earn a living. Even 10 dollars for 2 Fiverr gigs in this economy per hour can earn someone in India 20, 000 dollars a year. You can live well in India on 5.000 a year. Fiverr is making some people relatively rich in some places. It's the new model. Great presentation and product! כל הכבוד!

Excellent presentation and Fiverr is nice case Study Study worth examining. It is one of the Case Studies used at both Stanford and Caltech today ( Project Management) . The question I asked in another comment re the transition from $5 to open cost per item is always put as a discussion assignment to participants and always also is the issue of postage . Nothing costs a $ , nothing $5 and verylittle $10 if it has to be posted to a physical address. Kudos to Shai for a very charismatic and interesting presentation. ( and Osnat for organizing the event)

Very good presentation, good flow and interesting subject. Opened my mind to think how to integrate these concepts into the product portfolio my business unit develops (healthcare, a bit more complicated than web like e-commerce)

Great so far. I was gonna say that when I worked in the music industry that the word gig was what musicians did. They played a gig. A small service they did for sometimes too small a fee to satisfy the needs of music lovers. Same here:) a small fee to fulfill a need. Amazing use of words! They are the key.
