What is skill team? Skill team is a group of divers wanting to practice their scuba skills with other divers. Skill team will meet regularly, at the pool, or local open water locations. The team’s primary goal is to improve scuba skills and confidence, together as a group, in a low stress casual environment. The team will work on things like clearing, buoyancy, emergencies, entries/exits, equipment, stamina, bubble rings, navigation, with a little socializing before or after.
Who can join skill team? Divers of any certification level and experience are welcome to join. Please show your cert card the first time you participate. For under 18, guardian must be on-site.
What does a skill team session look like? After introductions, the session's activities will be discussed. Then the team will break into small groups, working together to complete the activities.
Will we learn new skills? No. Skill team is not a training group. Participants will only work on skills they already learned in their respective certification class(es). If you're interested in learning a new skill, reach out to your instructor. Then come back to skill team, to practice what you learned.
Disclaimer: All participants are responsible for managing their own safety, and following their training, regardless of what skills others are working on, or comments other participants make. While most exercises will be skills learned during open water certification class, if any exercise progresses past your training, it is your responsibility to exclude yourself from that exercise.
