MAIN SIGN UP: Gig Harbor Beer Fest May 9th

Hey all, to make sure we organize before tickets sell out...

Buy tickets here:
http://www.gigharborbeerfestival.com/

Some boats will leave Seattle Friday night to get to Gig Harbor on time. Boats will all leave from individual locations at different times, so make sure to coordinate with your skipper. Plans are to meet in Blake Island or Eagle Harbor Friday night and sail the rest of the way to Gig Harbor Saturday morning. The Fest starts at 12 noon on Saturday. The plan is to raft up in Gig Harbor on Saturday and rent a shuttle to get to the beer fest. We will then overnight on the boats Saturday and sail back Sunday.

*Crew- This is the Main Sign-Up list for Gig Harbor Beer Fest. Get on the waiting list and participating boats will pull crew from there. If you have time restraints at any point between Friday evening and Sunday evening, please consider meeting us in Gig Harbor at the festival. Individual time commitments will be worked out between skippers and crew. Purchasing your ticket is not a guarantee that you will be selected as crew, but make sure you get one as soon as you are selected to ensure you can get into the event.

*Skippers- Create you own post for the event with showing just yourself as "1 going" with no waiting list. Please state requirements and a rough itinerary on your post. Once you have contacted and selected crew pull them off of the main list as "not going" and load them on your post "as going". Add yourself to the main event as "going".

Okay waitlisters, I'm going to have two spots open on Anacreon. I have extra event tickets if you need them. I'm leaving Port Orchard around 11 AM on Friday. Since it's hard to find people who don't mind driving all the way over to Port Orchard I'm going to take any two members who reply to this post rather than try to contact you all individually. If you need a ride to Port Orchard from the Bremerton Ferry dock there is a foot ferry, or I can come pick you up. Just message me if you want more details. Just FYI: Anacreon is a 1977 Ericson 27. It isn't huge, but it sleeps four comfortably.

We will be staying at Arabella's Landing in Gig Harbor so you will have access to regular toilet and shower facilities.

    May 7

    • Gary

Hi there, is everyone leaving on Friday? Anyone going on Saturday?

    May 6

    • Sean R.

The only way to get there Saturday is to drive.

      May 7

    • Thomas

I'm hearing about several people who already have plans of driving down and just making a day out of it. Feel free to contact us if you are looking to get shuttled out to the raft-up to join in for a bit.

Hi all, the agreed upon plan is to raft up at the docks (we can go three deep for one slip) at Blake Island Marina. Some of us will leave early on Friday to ensure slips. Firewood is most appreciated, as a bonfire sounds like great fun! Skippers are also welcome to do their own thing Friday night. Saturday we will raft up off of Gig Harbor and take the shuttle to the fest, as Gary has so kindly arranged. Some skippers have reserved slips in Gig Harbor as well as their boat facilities do not allow for comfortable over-nighting. If you have a dinghy please consider sharing because not all of our skippers have one. Thanks and see you all in a week!!!

    • Jeff K.

I'll grab a couple of bundles of wood also. Are we going to do costumes for the beer fest?

      May 2

    • Jared O.

Sv Friday will bring dingy also and have 2 oversized anchors and chain. Anchoring/rafting out at Blake island and Gig Harbor.

      May 5

  • Bucky

S/V Lea Scotia will also be joining but is currently full. We're planning on anchoring Friday night in either Blakely Harbor or could bring firewood and anchor off the east side of Blake if others would be interested in joining in a camp fire on Blake Friday evening.

I vote for the campfire !!

(FYI)I sent an invite out to member Emily Westlake over a week ago with no response so I removed her from the wait list and put her on the not going list. FYI
People need to reply one way or another and watch your emails for invites please so we don't waste our time waiting on responses when there's plenty others on the wait list.

I'm pulling out... I have decided to keep my boat and hope to have her back in the water by mid-May. So, I'm going to need this weekend to work.

I have a ticket to the beer fest too - I can give that up to anyone that doesn't have one. Just let me know if you need a ticket.

Sorry to miss out on the fun and shenanigans. Looking forward to the next one.

Hey everyone, this event was announced over a month in advance to notify skippers and possible crew of this cool upcoming event and enable those that want to attend by land to be able to purchase tickets in advance. This event has sold out in the past hence the early announcement. Most skippers will wait until we get within a week of the event to check weather conditions and ready their boats for the overnighter cruise so please be patient, crews will be picked in due time. Thanks everyone for showing interest and boat owners for volunteering to take on passengers to make this a great time on the water.

    1 · April 9

  • Sarah J

All, we plan to discuss this event tomorrow at the skippers meeting. Don't despair yet. There is still time to purchase tickets and some skippers already have tickets for their crew!

    1 · April 8

  • mae p

I assume that since I have not yet been notified by email, that I'm not invited to join on the boat. Is that safe to assume or should I keep hanging around and wait?
