St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival

We have a car in the
Ft. Lauderdale St. Patrick's Day Parade and we want people to join us to walk alongside the car to promote Vegetarianism/Veganism and to pass out flyers to promote
The Great American Meatout (which is the following weekend). The more participants we have, the better the cause will look! So grab your
Green stuff and/or Veg T-shirts and come out and have some fun and show your veggie pride! If you have a carrot or cow costume in your closet, that would be great too!!!!
smile There are over 100 entries in the parade and Governor Charlie Crist is the Grand Marshal. The parade starts at 2pm and ends at 3:30pm but we need to get organized in the line-up by 1:15 so plan to arrive by 12:45 to find parking and locate our car. Look for an orange car with green decorations and signage on top that says "Keep Goin' Green; Go Vegetarian". You can ask for help finding us at the check-in table at SE 8th Ave. and SE 1st St. We think our staging area is on SE 8th Ave., south of SE 2nd Ct., Fort Lauderdale. The parade will take place along East Las Olas Blvd., begining at SE 8th Ave. & Las Olas Blvd., and ending at Huizenga Plaza, where the festival will resume. If you have to arrive late or leave early, come anyway! There will be live music, dancing, and other entertainment (sorry, this does include sheep herding and non-veg cooking demonstrations but this is all the more reason for us to be there!!!).

This was a very fun event and an excellent way to present veganism to the general public. They were very receptive so I think next year's entry needs to be bigger and better!!!

It was a lot of fun and we actually passed out lots of literature for our Great American Meatout Event. Thanks to those who actually participated in this parade (All 5 of you). I hoping in the future we get more volunteers!!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
