Walk For Farm Animals 2010

Sunday, September 19 is the Ft. Lauderdale Walk for Farm Animals to support Farm Sanctuary and to spread the word about the treatment of animals on factory farms. The Walk raises vital funds for rescue, education and advocacy work and is also a great way to help send a positive message of compassion and hope for farm animals.
Please visit to pre-register if you want to receive a T-shirt at the walk (see below) and to start collecting donations on line. Registration is at 9:00a.m. and the walk will start at 10:00a.m. (before it gets too hot). We walk out of the park and down A1A, Ft. Lauderdale beach with Farm Sanctuary posters with vegan messages. We walk at a leisurely pace for about 1 1/2 hours (round trip) -- gathering at pavilion to rest, hydrate and munch out. There is a $15 registration fee that entitles each registrant to a Walk for Farm Animals T-shirt.
You must pre-register in order to guarantee that you receive a T-shirt. T-shirts will be distributed to registered walkers the day of the Walk.
Pre-registration for the Walk is strongly encouraged. If you register the day of the Walk, the fee is $20 and regrettably, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a T-shirt. Donations After you register as a walker, you can begin collecting donations, online through, and/or in person, using our Offline Donation Form. If you have registered online, you will create a fundraising page to email to all your friends and family. If you have a Facebook page, it's great to post it there too. Even if people don't donate, they still might see the post and think about the animals. We encourage all walkers to raise a minimum of $100. If you are using the Offline Donation Form, you should include the names and addresses of all donors on the form. Be sure to write clearly. In person donations must be collected before the Walk and turned in to the Walk coordinator the day of the Walk. There is no minimum or maximum donation. vWe suggest asking for a minimum of $20, which entitles the donor to a one-year Farm Sanctuary membership and a subscription to "Sanctuary," Farm Sanctuary's compassionate quarterly newsletter. Walkers raising $100 or more are eligible for prizes so don't be shy. Every donation you receive will help save the lives of abused and neglected farm animals, and that's something to be proud of! Thanks to Angie for organizing this year's walk!!!

The meetup was great. I just wish the actual walk could've been longer. I found it to be way too short.
